Rattiinox tank bottom outlet valves represent the most advanced designs for critical aseptic processing.

Typical applications are bioreactors and fermenters and a wide range of stationary and mobile process vessels.  The standard valve diaphragm is precision machined from solid PTFE.  The CAD valve is the only valve in this class engineered to take a PTFE diaphragm as standard.  The long life PTFE diaphragm will not swell or blister even under vacuum conditions.  Laser marking is standard to comply with traceability and validation requirements.  Material 3.1 certificates according to FDA or USP and internal surface finishing check is standard.

It is well understood that weir style valves and some radial diaphragm valves have pockets and unused portions that can inhibit cleaning in place.  The Rattiinox CAD tank bottom outlet valve is designed to take fluids from the tank bottom without the risk of entrapment points or product hold up.  The body shape of the Rattiinox CAD tank bottom outlet valves and their internal design eliminate these hard to clean and sterilize areas and therefor offer a very reliable component for your critical aseptic processing applications.

First generation radial diaphragm valves with an EPDM elastomer diaphragm have a secondary body seal.  If product gets trapped between the seals there is no way to know and no way to clean this area. The CAD valve with its single seal eliminates this possibility.  Other valves also incorporate a bellows in the diaphragm which can inhibit thorough cleaning.  And unlike some elastomeric diaphragms, the PTFE diaphragm on the CAD valve will not stick to the sealing surface and does not contain any additives or surface treatments designed to prevent sticking and which can also come dislodged from the diaphragm and find their way into the process.  Some common diaphragm materials are less prone to sticking but because of their inherent porosity can develop internal fissures and blisters that can trap both condensate and product.  The solid PTFE diaphragm of the CAD valve eliminates this possibility.

Rattiinox has decades of experience as a reliable manufacturer of aseptic valves and also with the use of PTFE as a valve diaphragm material.  The primary CAD valve diaphragm is precision machined from solid PTFE block and is internally supported with a stainless steel armature and is standard for all bottom outlet valves and process valves.  The connection to the actuator allows the diaphragm to find its center on the valve body and this has two critical benefits.  The design assures the diaphragm is in the correct position to make a positive body seal.  In addition, this unique design does not deform the diaphragm.  The valve can be disassembled for inspection, and if required the same diaphragm can be reused.  Customer installations and internal testing has proven that the CAD PTFE diaphragm can be reliably sealed multiple times and still meet a 6 bar (90 psi) shut-off.  The CAD valve diaphragm is also highly resistant to vacuum forces, even under hot conditions and will also reliably maintain a positive seal under cryogenic conditions (-60°C with 6 bar Nitrogen for 24 hours).

Standard versions have short butt weld ends however they are typically delivered with ends for orbital welding or with Tri-Clamp connections, straight, 45° and 90° elbows.

Shut Off and Flow Through valves are available in several configurations to fulfill customer needs.  Standard applications include: 90° or 180° connections, short and extended body design for stringent applications such as bioreactors or fermentors as well as food and cosmetics.  The valve body is machined from solid 1.4435-BN2 compound for superior corrosion resistance.  Other higher alloys are also available.  USP Class VI EPDM and Silicone diaphragms are available as options.  Valve sizes: 0.5″, 1.0″, 1.5″, 2.0″, 2.5″, 3.0″, and 4.0″
